Graveside services for Doyle James Busby, 78, of Diboll will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery with Brother James Cobb officiating.
Mr. Busby was born April 16, 1934 in New Willard, Texas to George A. and Bertie Lee (Allen) Busby, and went home to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, August 14, 2012, following a brief illness. He was the fifth of eight children.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Mr. Busby came back to Diboll and married Lillian Simms, and then moved to California where he was employed with U.S. Plating Company. He retired with 35 years of service. His loving wife passed away while they were living there. Several years later, he married Alpha Landrum of Diboll. Five years later, they moved back to Diboll and made their home there. She passed away five years ago.
Mr. Busby enjoyed all the family gatherings, especially with good country cooking and playing the game of ""42"" dominoes, which he played very well. He was a regular member at the Golden Corral Restaurant with his family and anyone else who wanted to join in. He was a quiet and humble person, but underneath, he was always willing to help his family and friends. The old western movies were his favorite films and his favorite television show was The Andy Griffith Show. Mr. Busby enjoyed fishing, but he didn't like to eat it.
Mr. Busby's relationship with our Lord and Savior was the most important thing in his life. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
