Barbara Ellen Tillar

Funeral services for Barbara Ellen Tillar, 81, of Lufkin will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher and Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Tillar was born July 3, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Leo Lucian and Bernice Elizabeth (Ridley) Ottney, and went to be with her Lord Friday, August 17, 2012 in a local hospital. She had resided in Lufkin for 31 years. Mrs. Tillar was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, George H. Tillar, Sr. of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, George ""Joey"" Tillar, Jr., Michael and Karen Tillar, all of Lufkin, and Billy and Judy Tillar of Austin; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Robert Hicks of Grass Lake, Michigan, Ellen and Edward Phillips of Lufkin, and Patricia and Robby Williams of Broaddus; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Lynn Ottney of Rives Junction, Michigan; and a number of other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tillar was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel L. Tillar and Jack Tillar.

Pallbearers will be Mike Tillar, Billy Tillar, Jacob Anderson, Spencer Curry, Robby Williams and Daniel J. Tillar.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
