Brenda Lea Weaver Adkison

Funeral services for Brenda Lea Weaver Adkison, 55, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Rosslyn Harris and Brother Kim Bartel officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Brenda was born December 14, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas to Jo Ann (Gibson) and Richard Elwood Weaver, and went to meet Jesus Friday, August 17, 2012, after a three year battle with cancer.

Brenda was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was employed with Axley & Rode, CPAs for several years and also worked for David Tamminga, CPA for 14 years.

Brenda and her husband Phil loved to vacation in Destin, Florida, their favorite getaway. She loved her grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching them play ball. She also loved hunting with Phil and Taylor and camping with them all. Brenda was a devoted Elvis fan and she finally got to visit Graceland in April 2011.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 22 years, Phil Adkison of Lufkin; daughters, Skye Page Smith and husband Brady and Brandi Page, all of Lufkin; stepdaughter, Kellie Page of Lufkin; grandchildren, Taylor Martin, Brecken and Easton Smith, and Brendan Page; mother and stepfather, Jo Ann and Denton McCoy of Lufkin; father and stepmother, Elwood and Taffie Weaver of Lufkin; sister, Debbie Dixon and husband Jimmy of Pollok; brothers, Mike Weaver and wife Linda of Lufkin and Richard Weaver and wife Christine of Baytown, formerly of Lufkin; stepbrothers, Tyson Mott, Jeff Mott, Danny McCoy, David McCoy, Steve McCoy and Mark McCoy; uncle, Billy Ray Gibson of Lufkin; very best friend all these years, Anita LaVaud and husband Bernard of Houston; dear friend, Nell Dias of Lufkin; father of her children, Marvin Page; and a number of nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her.

Preceding Brenda in death were her grandparents, Richard and Stella Weaver, Roger M. Gibson, Sr., and Lonie Williams Cole; uncle, Mack Wayne Weaver; and mother-in-law, Betty Adkison.

Pallbearers will be Bernard LaVaud, Josh Dixon, Lucas Weaver, Andy Weaver, Tyson Mott, Jeff Mott, Josh Kroeker and Clayton Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anita LaVaud, Jeremy Dixon, Cindy Oates and Larkin Weaver.

The family extends special thanks to Brenda's caregivers, Leia Paulsey and Shelley, and the Heart to Heart Hospice team.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
