Graveside services for Myrl M. Oliver Freeman, 92, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery with her grandson, Matthew Quick, officiating.
Mrs. Freeman was born May 6, 1920 in Diboll, Texas to the late John B. and Dora (Redd) Oliver, and died Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at her residence. A former resident of Silsbee, she had resided in Lufkin for 10 years. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Silsbee.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Richard Quick of Lufkin, Gloria Rainineu of Missouri, Mary Grace Freeman of Denver, Colorado, Betty Jo and Ron Dessauer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Debraoh Lee Froelich-Freeman and Bud Froelich of Phoenex, Arizona, and Sarah Elizabeth Gore of Silsbee; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl E., Jr. and Sharon Freeman of Mississippi, Paul L. and Janet Freeman of Silsbee, and Phillip L. and Ann Freeman of Leesville, Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Marcela ""Jackie"" Morehead of Corpus Christi; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Freeman; an infant son; son, Harry Edward ""Eddy"" Freeman; brother, Z.A. Oliver; and sisters, Ula Waller, Minnie Smith, Johnnie Gibson, Chloie Weeks and Clemmie DuBose.
Pallbearers will be William Freeman, Jonathon Freeman, Skylar Quick, Kevin McCroskey, Alvin Quick and Seth Hutchison.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
