Robert Glen Horton

Graveside services for Robert Glen Horton, 61, of Lufkin will be held Monday, September 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Largent Cemetery with Brother Elton Musick officiating.

Mr. Horton was born May 16, 1951 in Banning, California to the late Ida (Tremble) and Levi Horton, Sr., and died Friday, August 31, 2012 in a local hospital. He was employed with Atkinson Candy Company and attended Grace Baptist Church.

Mr. Horton was a faithful, loving husband and doting father. He helped teach his son Luke to read and write at an early age. Mr. Horton loved animals and raised ducks, chickens and rabbits. He was loving and giving to family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Horton of Lufkin; son, Luke Robert Horton of Lufkin; stepdaughter, Jasmine Garcia of Austin; stepson, Javier Garcia of Austin; sisters, Ida Welkley of California and Stella Mass of Arkansas; brothers, Levi Horton, Jr. and Earl Horton, both of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Vera Ann Mosby of San Augustine; brothers-in-law, John Mosby of Houston, Lawrence Mosby of San Antonio, Craig Mosby of Austin, Lyndell Mosby of Nacogdoches and Roderick Mosby of San Augustine; sisters-in-law, Melinda El Atik of Houston and Kimberly Mosby of San Augustine; friends, Bud and Bobbie Still, Wilburn Ward and John and Joyce LaRue; Renee's children, Josh, Julie and Jayna Morrow; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Horton and Eddie Horton.

Pallbearers will be Levi Horton, Jr., Earl Horton, David Horton, Benjamin Horton, Lyndell Mosby, Lawrence Mosby, Craig Mosby and John Mosby.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Monday at Carroway Funeral Home.
