Funeral services for Joe Carl Warner, 79, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County.

Mr. Warner was born September 28, 1932 in Burke, Texas to the late Richard Lee and Marion Ruth (Crenshaw) Warner, and died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Warner was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and retired from Lufkin Industries following 30 years of employment as a machinist. Mr. Warner was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and had a great love for hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mable Warner of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mike Wallace of Lufkin; son, Gerald Warner of Houston; grandchildren, Misty and Lonnie Cantwell, Michael and Amanda Wallace, Taylor Dylan Warner and Robert Alen Warner; great-grandchildren, Morgan Cantwell, Carley Carrico and Clara Jewell Wallace; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Warner was preceded in death by his sisters, Dana Warner Camp and Sarah Ann Williams; and brothers, Jim Bill Warner, M.L. ""Monk"" Warner and Charles Wesley Warner.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Warner, Michael Joe Wallace, Lonnie Cantwell, Ronnie Montes, Charles Montes, Robbie Wallace, Richard Warner and Jake Rhoden.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Rhoden.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
