Dorthey Lee Scarborough

Funeral services for Dorthey Lee Scarborough, 91, of Diboll will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lesly Wilkinson and Brother Elzine Strong officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Joe Blake officiating.

Mrs. Scarborough was born May 30, 1921 in the Bald Hill Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Taylor and Bessie (Young) Morris, and died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Scarborough had resided in Diboll for 46 years and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Diboll. She was an expert quilter, and won 1st place for a quilt at the Houston Livestock Show. Mrs. Scarborough was the best dumpling maker around.

Survivors include her son, Skeeter Scarborough of Beulah; grandchildren, Ronda Allman and husband David of Trinity, Michael Squyres and wife Betty of Clear Lake, Machel Scarborough of Tyler, Marvin Scarborough and wife Theresa of Flint, Marty Scarborough of Beulah, Kelli Becka and husband Stuart of Seabrook, Steven Scarborough of Beulah, and Tammy Hathorn and husband Marty of Tyler; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Leslie Morris of West Monroe, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Peggy Scarborough of Beulah; son-in-law, Ronald Squyres of Deer Park; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scarborough was preceded in death by her husband, D.L. ""Bug"" Scarborough; daughter, Nedra Squyres; and son, Lawrence ""Punk"" Scarborough.

Pallbearers will be Michael Squyres, Machel Scarborough, Marvin Scarborough, Steven Scarborough, Marty Hathorn and Mark Morris.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
