Deborah Cook Roper

Funeral services for Deborah Cook Roper, 57, of Houston will be held Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Roper was born March 24, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Monday, September 17, 2012 at her residence. A former resident of Lufkin, she had resided in Houston for 14 years. Mrs. Roper was employed with Metro National.

Deb loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. Her joy in life was pleasing others. She spent many selfless hours making sure all those around her were cared for properly. She enjoyed antiquing, crafting, and creating special gifts for those she loved. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Don Roper of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and John Henson of Lufkin, Leia and Eric Knighton and Ashley Harrell, all of Houston; grandchildren, Justin Knighton, Lorelai Harrell, Aidan Henson, Payton Harrell, Ava Knighton, Jacob Knighton and Ethan Henson; parents, Loyd and Nelda (Holloway) Cook of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Jeannie Cook, David and Becky Cook, and Kevin and Stephanie Cook, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mike Dillon of Houston; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary Tom and Sam Snoddy of Midland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Cook, Mark Cook, Kevin Cook, Eric Knighton, John Henson and Justin Knighton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
