Graveside services for Donald Gene Seymore, Sr., 68, of Wells will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells with Chaplain Bob Harbuck officiating.
Mr. Seymore was born October 21, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Samuel and Racheal (Taylor) Seymore, and died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Seymore served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked as an auto technician for 40 years, most recently at Barrett Brothers. He loved to race dirt track cars. He was a farmer, carpenter, and inventor, and an extreme workaholic. Mr. Seymore was a lifetime member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wells.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Becky (Bailey) Seymore of Wells; daughters and sons-in-law, Velynn and Craig Dehls of Weatherford, Lisa and Tad Transou of Houston and Tracy Jackson of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Sherri Seymore of Granbury; grandchildren, Cody Thompson, currently serving in Afghanistan, and wife Elena, Ashlee Waters of Tyler, Spencer Bowser of Houston, Destany Seymore of Nacogdoches, Madison Seymore of Granbury, Hannah Berg of Arlington, Megan Dehls of Weatherford, Peyton Seymore of Granbury, Reece Transou of Houston, Bailee Dehls of Weatherford, Trey Seymore of Granbury, Grace Transou and Thomas Transou, both of Houston; great-grandchildren, Desiree Thompson and Cullen Thompson, both of Denton; sister, Beth Yates; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Seymore was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Thompson, Spencer Bowser, David Seymore and Robby Hefner.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Carroway Funeral Home.
