Berneice Pouland Harris

Funeral services for Berneice Pouland Harris, 82, of Central will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Livingston and Brother Gene Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in the Tom Havard Cemetery.

Mrs. Harris was born May 16, 1930 in Zavalla, Texas to the late John Thomas and Media Olphia (Havard) Pouland, and died Thursday, September 27, 2012 in a local hospital. She had resided in Central for 40 years. Mrs. Harris owned and operated Harris Draperies for 20 years. Her life was devoted to church work and she served as church pianist, choir leader, and women's Bible teacher as she fulfilled many years as a pastor's wife.

Survivors include her husband, Brother Harold Van Harris of Central; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Bell of Deweyville, Teresa and Harold Collins of Bridge City, and Lisa and John Wojhan of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Rulaine Harris of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Mindy Bell, Josh Bell, Jordan Bell, Jeff Collins, Chris Collins, Heather McCall, David Wojhan, Amy Sturm, Rachel Wojhan, Rebekah Harris, Brandy Harris and Stephen Harris; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Collins, Chris Collins, Josh Bell, Jordan Bell, David Wojhan, Stephen Harris and Anthony Broussard.

Honorary pallbearer will be Wallace Boulware.
