Funeral services for Christopher ""Chris"" Dilday, 33, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Pastor Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Chris was born January 5, 1979 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and died Saturday, September 29, 2012 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident while hunting. He had resided in Huntington most of his life and had been employed in the Transportation Department at the Brookshire Bros. Warehouse for 14 years. Chris was a member of the Highway Baptist Church.
Chris was a passionate person who loved his wife and kids beyond measure. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, teaching his children to do the same. Chris was such a good friend to many and although he was here just a short time, he has touched the lives of many.
Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Dilday of Huntington; daughter, Christie Denise Dilday of Huntington; sons, Taylor Ray Dilday and Jase Ryan Dilday, both of Huntington; mother, Tenna (Sheffield) Dilday of Huntington; father, Steven Dilday of Broussard, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Rebecca Dilday of Huntington; grandparents, Ray and Rubie Dilday of Wetumka, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Joy Havard of Huntington; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jaime Hopper of Huntington; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Myles Holland, Chance Armstrong, Coal Dilday, Bradley Perry, Leslie Dilday and Jimmy Sheffield.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dustin Perry.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
