Nell G. Dias

Funeral services for Nell G. Dias, 91, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mardy Guidry officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Ms. Dias was born January 22, 1921 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Thomas D. and Nona V. (Jordan) Dias, and died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in a local hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from PERCO Distributors following 33 years of employment. Ms. Dias was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her special nephew she helped raise, Phil Adkins of Hudson; nieces, Dian Davis and husband Ronnie, Carolyn Smith, all of Lufkin, Betty Lawliss and husband Monte of Lantana and Brenda Mossenton and husband Paul of Apple Springs; nephew, Elvin Dias and wife Tanua of Lufkin; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of special friends.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Dias was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Dias, Garland Dias, Alvis Dias, and Marvin Dias; nephew, Billy Smith; and great-nephews, Garland Dias, Jr. and Alvis Dias, Jr..

Pallbearers will be Dolan Procell, Brad Colbert, Josh Davis, Derek Peek, Jimmy Davis and David Davis.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
