Lois Guse

Memorial Mass for Lois Guse, 83, of Lufkin, will be celebrated Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 12:15 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Lufkin with Father Joe Kannampuzha and Deacon Jesus Reyes officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Guse was born November 4, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Lucille (Flynn) and Raymond John Moran. She died Thursday, October 18, 2012 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
At the age of 50 after seeing her two children to off to college, Mrs. Guse went back to school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She loved her volunteer work at Woodland Heights Medical Center and Hospice in the Pines. Mrs. Guse was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Ladies' Guild at St. Andrew's Parish, as well as Minister of Eucharist. She had lived in Lufkin for the past 10 years, and previously resided in Brookfield, Wisconsin for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Roy Guse, Jr. and Leslie Guse of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Bill Cady of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Allison Guse, Nick Guse, Sam Cady and Will Cady; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed Moran of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Richard and Beverly Moran of Greenfield, Wisconsin, and Michael and Barb Moran of The Villages, Florida; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Guse was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy John Guse, Sr., her parents, and her sister-in-law, Jean Moran.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 1611 Feagin Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904; or to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Lufkin.
