Harold Marwood Buford

Funeral services for Harold Marwood Buford will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. The eulogy will be offered by Billy Terrell. Interment will follow in the Manning Cemetery.
H.M. (Marwood) Buford, 77, of Huntington, Texas was born on December 13, 1934 and departed this life on Friday, October 19th, 2012 at his residence. Marwood married the love of his life, Yvonne Hopkins, on July 3, 1955. Together, they began a life farming their cotton fields in the Shawnee Prairie Community in Huntington, Texas. Marwood was a welder by trade, but cooking was his passion. He catered many events in the East Texas area, serving delicious bar-b-que and his famous smoked chickens. He was a family man who loved spoiling his wife, children and grandchildren.
Marwood is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvonne Hopkins Buford; his children, Aleta Ross, Edwin (Bubba) and Karen Buford, Ouida (Buford) and Jack Willson; his grandchildren, Megan (Holland) and Michael Saenz, Sam Buford, Lauren Holland, Olivia Buford and Andy Buford. He is also survived by Megan and Lauren's dad, Douglas Holland; nieces and nephews, Karon and Larry Joiner and Alan Cassels; his extended family, J.P. and Lavon Hopkins, Jimmy Earl and Nelda Hopkins, Eulavia Hopkins and Faye Hopkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. Buford and Lillie Day Palmer; sister, Latheta Cassels; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Warren and Jimmie Hopkins.
Pallbearers will be Sam Buford, Andy Buford, Michael Saenz, Billy Terrell, Doug Holland, Cody Wilde and Charles Robertson, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Spivey, Carl Robertson and Dr. Carlton Lewis.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice, his nurse, Jennifer Hilton, and caregiver, Charaine Davis.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
