Jerry Lee Adams

Memorial services for Jerry Lee Adams, 73, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Christ Congregational Church located at 104 West Shepherd Avenue in Lufkin with Reverend Randy Green officiating. A reception will follow the service at 2304 Hanks in Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Adams was born August 8, 1939 in Greenville, Texas to the late Lorraine (Matlock) and John D. Olan Adams. He died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston.

Mr. Adams was a retired banker for Commercial Bank of East Texas. He was an active member of Christ Congregational Church, serving as a member of the Choir and as Chairman of the Committee on Committees. He was also a Mason and member of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. Formerly a resident of California, Mr. Adams had resided in Lufkin since 1988.

Survivors include his wife of 41-1/2 years, Judy Adams of Lufkin; his children and their spouses, Brian and Kristy Adams of Lufkin, Kimberly and Jeff Whitfield of Lufkin, Randy and Barbara Adams of Houston, and Jeff and Norren Adams of Spring; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mildred Adams of Fort Worth; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Mary Peacock of Hartford, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
