Lessie was born August 15, 1950 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Bessie (Landrum) and Tandy Henderson. She died Sunday, November 4, 2012 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Lessie's greatest love was her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the Denman Avenue Baptist Church, working in the Joy East Library and facilitating Inductive Bible Study for many years. Lessie was a Woman of Prayer and had a passionate love of God's Word. Cross-stitching, quilting, reading and inspiring young children to read are just some of the things that made her happy. Lessie obtained a Masters Degree in Library Science and Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a LRE from Sam Houston State University. Lessie taught school for 22 years, 14 of which were in the Temple Elementary Library.
Preceding Lessie in death was her husband, John Howard Boudreaux, in 1995. Left to mourn her passing are her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Nina Boudreaux, and daughter, Tiffany Boudreaux, all of Lufkin. She is also survived by grandsons, Michael John Boudreaux and Carson Wojasinski, both of Lufkin; granddaughters, Madelyn Boudreaux and Caroline Boudreaux, both of Lufkin; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert and Susan Henderson of Huntington, and Joe Paul Henderson of Lufkin; sister, Deborah Caples of Austin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruby Boudreaux of Port Arthur, Jane and Vince Cuccio of Port Neches, and Jan and Lonnie Romero of Mauriceville; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
