Tammy Jean Harris

Funeral services for Tammy Jean Harris, 43, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Pam Lundberg and Reverend Carl Lundberg officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery.

Ms. Harris was born March 16, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Hazel Mae (Smith) and Carthal Matterson Harris. She died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her residence.

Ms. Harris had been a Sales Associate at Wal-Mart for four years. She loved to fish and to spend time with her family. Ms. Harris was of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Huntington for the past four years, but had been a resident of Lufkin most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Grogan of Huntington; sons, Michael Paul Grogan and Shawn Ray Grogan, both of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Thomas Parker of Hudson; uncle and wife, J.W. and Norma Smith of Huntington; brother-in-law, Kenneth Grisham of Lufkin; nieces and nephews, Amanda Harris of Diboll, Brandon Harris, Bobby Knight, both of Lufkin, David Wesley of Pollok, Terry Wesley of Etoile, Chris Wesley of Apple Springs, Stefanie Getro of Hudson, Tommy Parker of Diboll, and Connie Parker of Hudson; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Keith Harris; and sisters, Judy Marie Harris Knight and Brenda Joyce Harris Grisham.

Pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Michael Smith, Shawn Ramsey, Dustin Ramsey, Anthony Duke and Jamie Getro.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Grisham and Bobby Knight.

Memorial contributions in Ms. Harris' honor may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904; or to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
