Mollie S. Allen Reid

Funeral services for Mollie S. Allen Reid, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Ty Phillips and Reverend Fred Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Mrs. Reid was born March 22, 1933 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Zora (Modisette) and Monroe Allen. She died Saturday, November 17, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Reid was retired from the Medical Records Department of Woodland Heights Medical Center. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Reid had attended Central ISD and Pineywoods Business College. She had been a member of Redland Baptist Church for 46 years. Mollie had a passion for painting, quilt making, and genealogy. She was a lifetime member of the Lufkin Art Guild.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Lowell A. Reid of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Leshia Reid of Nacogdoches, Mike and Debbie Reid of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Ruby of Cedar Park, Texas; seven grandchildren, Brandon Ruby, Seth Ruby, Amber Ruby, Steven Reid, Nicole Thurston, Amanda Martinez and Jonathan Reid; nine great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Preceding Mrs. Reid in death was her son, Riley Ruby.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Reid, Mike Reid, Steve Reid, Don Rudy Allen, Brandon Ruby and John Allen.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
