Charles Robert Read

Funeral services for Charles Robert Read, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Read was born May 17, 1933 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dora (Morgan) and Perry Read. He died Monday, November 19, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Read was a retired Millwright for Champion Paper Mill, following 32 years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Read was an avid golfer and a member of Lufkin Country Club's golf gang called ""The Dew Busters."" He had resided in Lufkin all his life.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frankie Read of Lufkin; daughter, Charla Read-Richardson of Clovis, New Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Lori Read-Feldpausch and Paul Feldpausch of Huntington; grandsons and their wives, Ross and Shae Richardson of Diboll, Ryan and Cassie Richardson of Warren, Johnathan Feldpausch and Brandon Read Feldpausch, both of Huntington; great grandchildren, Cody Richardson, Clayton Richardson and Kutter Richardson; niece, Joy Read Havard of Huntington; nephews, Mike Read of Huntington, Raymond Havard, Don Williamson, Freddy Williamson, all of Lufkin, and Thomas Haygood of Marshall; and sister-in-law, Joyce Read of Huntington.

Preceding Mr. Read in death were his parents and a brother, Ralph Eugene Read.

Pallbearers will be Paul Feldpausch, Don Williamson, Bill Gardner, Richard Craig, Raymond Havard, Coy Read, Thomas Haygood and Jaime Hopper.

Honorary pallbearers are The Dew Busters: Bill Beavers, Jim Gray, Ken Cook, Dave Oats, Dick Semlinger and Gus Schultz.

Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
