Funeral services for Lloyd E. Thompson, 73, of Somerville, formerly of Diboll, will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Freeman Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was born July 27, 1939 in Dallas County, Texas to the late Frank and Rosa (Storm) Thompson, and died Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Brenham.
A resident of Angelina County most of his life, Mr. Thompson had resided in Somerville for eight years. He retired from M.C. Hughes Oil Co. after 20 years of employment in the maintenance department. Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Donny Faust, Sandy and Tommy Thompson, of Somerville, Linda and Billy Leverett, and Katherine Wallace, of Diboll; sons, Edward Thompson of Somerville and Gary Thompson and Charlotte Longino of Diboll; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Wallace of Pollok; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Thompson; son, Randy Lloyd Thompson; daughter, Brenda Lee Thompson; three brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Stanford, Jessie Wallace, Gary Griffin, Matt Hughes, Ken Hughes and Mark Willis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Thompson and Billy Leverett.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
