Bobby R. Cheatham

Funeral services for Bobby R. Cheatham, 80, of Lufkin will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Pastor Paul Geye officiating, with entombment to follow.

Mr. Cheatham was born May 23, 1932 in Pollok, Texas to the late William J. and Laura (Creel) Cheatham, and died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in a local nursing home. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and retired from the City of Lufkin. Mr. Cheatham loved to hunt and fish, and he also loved to work outdoors. He was a member of the Redtown Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Charlotte Squyres of Lufkin; grandsons, Jonathan Squyres and wife Julia, Matthew Squyres and wife Jada, all of Lufkin; granddaughters, Rebekah Cheatham, Veronica McMahon and husband Justin, all of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Anna Grace Squyres, Caroline Marie Squyres, Kylee Anne Wallace and Journey MacKenzie Weeks, all of Lufkin; and numerous other family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Cheatham; and son, Michael Cheatham.

The family extends special thanks to the caring staff of PineCrest MRC and Heart to Heart Hospice.
