Fannie Ruth Day Richardson

Funeral services for Fannie Ruth Day Richardson, 81, of Beaumont will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ with Pastor Cary Modisett officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Antioch Cemetery near Buna.

Mrs. Richardson was born August 11, 1931 in the Manning Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Reverend Leon and Ruby (Tatum) Day, and died Sunday, November 25, 2012 in a Beaumont hospital.

Mrs. Richardson graduated from Lufkin High School and attended Baylor University. She served in the U.S. Navy, and worked as an I.R.S. agent for 30 years. Mrs. Richardson was a longtime resident of Beaumont and had previously resided in Lufkin, Austin, and Washington D.C. She had been an active member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Lufkin, Christian Life Church of Austin and The Anchor Church of Beaumont. She taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Richardson was also a poet, and had some of her poems published.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Leah and Bob Morgan of Austin; granddaughters, Maggie Romine and husband Jeff of Austin, Elisabeth Brown and husband Lucky of Kanab, Utah and Allison Morgan of Austin; great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Fowler of Austin, James Romine of Willis and Magnolia Huffman of Austin; sisters, Novelle Trapasso of Beaumont, Lula Page of Huntington and Kathryn Thomson of Huntsville; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, K.O. Richardson; sons, Bevis Ogden and Jeffrey Day Richardson; and sisters, Gladys Havard and Alice Day.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Richardson's nephews and great-nephews.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.
