Mavis F. Parker

Funeral services for Mavis F. Parker, 84, of Lufkin will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Livingston and Donnie Grigg officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Parker was born February 20, 1928 in Emory, Texas to the late Tilmon Washington and Essie Jewel (Moreland) Foster. She went home to be with her Jesus Friday, December 7, 2012 in a local hospital. She resided in Lufkin most of her life. Mrs. Parker graduated from Satterwhite Business College. She retired from Coburn's Supply. She was a faithful member of Keltys First Baptist Church and Secretary of the Joy Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Parker was loved by so many. She was an amazing woman of faith who loved her Jesus. She was in every way a living example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was the most devoted loving Momma and Mammaw anyone could have ever asked for.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Michael Murphy of Lufkin; son, Joey Parker of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Angie and David McLelland, Brandon and Kelly Stephens, all of Lufkin, April and Zach Richey of West Lake, Louisiana, Autumn Parker and Dylan Parker of Lufkin; great-grandchildren, Laurynn Stephens of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Caden and Carlye McLelland of Lufkin, Preslee Richey and Aubree Richey of West Lake, Louisiana, and Jaxson Stephens of Lufkin; physician and special friend, Dr. Kyle Krohn of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be John Ralph Weaver, Eddie Moreland, Bob Ager, Wade Jabbour, Billy Farrell and Ken Stephens.

Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Parker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joy Class at Keltys First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3043, Lufkin, Texas 75903.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
