Edith Nerren Carrell

Funeral services for Edith Nerren Carrell, 77, of Hudson, will be held Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend John Withem and Pastor Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mrs. Carrell was born August 17, 1935 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Opal Lee (Freeman) and J.R. (Jake) Nerren. She died Thursday, December 13, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Carrell was the retired manager of Lufkin Abstract Company, and had resided in Hudson and Huntington all her life. She volunteered at Woodland Heights Medical Center for many years. She loved antiques and had collected many, and she loved garage sales. Mrs. Carrell was a loving and caring grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandsons playing sports. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Earl Carrell of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lynn and David Milam of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Earl and Dovie Carrell of Nacogdoches; four grandsons, Justin Keith and wife Hollyn, Zach Keith, Russell Carrell and Collin Carrell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph Harold and Garletha Nerren, John David and Misty Nerren, all of Huntington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Earl Carrell, David Milam, Justin Keith, Zach Keith, Russell Carrell and Collin Carrell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 209 Christie St., Lufkin, Texas 75904 or to the Building Fund at Providence Baptist Church, 4423 Ted Trout Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Lufkin.
