Loyd Wayne ""Buddy"" Ogden, 78, of Lufkin passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012. Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Ogden was born January 1, 1934 in Zavalla, Texas to Walter and Ruby (Barge) Ogden. A resident of Lufkin most of his life, he had resided in Etoile for the last eight years. Mr. Ogden served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a self employed businessman throughout his life.
Buddy was a loving husband, devoted father and loyal friend. He enjoyed relaxing by the fire, visiting with friends, and playing with his many grandchildren. In his youth ""Buddy"" was an avid adventurist, enjoying everything from professional bull riding and car racing to hunting and being a golden glove boxer. To his friends and family he was always the life of the party and will be remembered for his humor and zest for life.
Survivors include his wife, Lawanna Ogden of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and H.L. Trawick of Conroe and Brandy and Joey Froehlich of Nacogdoches; sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Jennifer Ogden, Chad and Kim Ogden, both of Lufkin, Adam and Susie Grimes of Etoile and Andy and Crystal Grimes of Zavalla; grandchildren, Bradley Ogden of Lufkin, Brittany Ogden of Central, Colton Ogden of Lufkin, Jon David Copeland of Willis, Carter Ogden of Lufkin, Gracie Froehlich, Hannah Froehlich, both of Nacogdoches, Callie Grimes, Anthony Grimes, Jesse Grimes, all of Zavalla, Lexi Grimes and Addisyn Grimes, both of Etoile; great-grandsons, Rylan Ogden and Jonah Ogden, both of Lufkin; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Walter Faye Price.
