Richard Earl Harrison

Funeral services for Richard Earl ""Rick"" Harrison, 56, of Hudson will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Keltys First Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Loftin and Pastor Mark Livingston officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Largent Cemetery under the auspices of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Harrison was born February 20, 1956 in Crockett, Texas to the late William Robert and Melba Gleen (Lloyd) Harrison, and died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in a Houston hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County.

Mr. Harrison retired from the Lufkin Police Department following 24 years of service, and was currently in his 12th year of serving as Commissioner of Angelina County Precinct 1. He was a Past Master and Secretary of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M., past Texas State Coon Hunters Director, and past President and Judge of the East Texas Coon Hunters Association. Mr. Harrison was a member of Keltys First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Shelba Harrison of Hudson; sons, William Luke Harrison and Jacob Dallas Harrison, both of Hudson; brothers and sister-in-law, Greg and Vivian Harrison of Hudson and Bill Harrison of Nacogdoches; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby Jones Dunn and George Dunn of Groveton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sherman and Theresa Jones of Groveton; nephews, Greg Harrison and wife Gabrielle and Josh Harrison and wife Heather; niece, Amanda Bird and husband John; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Boots Jones.

Pallbearers will be the Angelina County Precinct 1 Crew.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
