Alex Rodrigues

Alex was born to Annie and Alex Rodrigues, Sr., in Nacogdoches County. He was the youngest child of a large and loving family. He was affectionately called ""Junior"" by his many friends and family.

In 1956, he married Jeanette Murphy, and they made their home in Lufkin. He was a retired security guard for Lufkin Industries following 15 years of service. Alex and his brother also owned and operated Rodrigues Automotive Service Station for 30 years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Rodrigues; daughters, Alicia Rodrigues, and Rosanne Parker and husband Adam; grandsons, Luke McCreary, Wil McCreary, Cody Newton and Caleb Parker; granddaughter, Maigan Stubblefield and husband Josh; great grandchildren, Jacob McCreary and Mackenzie Johnson. He is also survived by his sisters, Caroline Rodrigues and Tommie Montes and husband Arnold; and in-laws, Robert Luna, J.V. Lazarine and Viola Rodrigues. He will be especially missed by his beloved nieces and nephews.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Henry and John ""Ducky;"" and sisters, Mary Jane, Josephine and Louise.

A private inurnment service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Friends and loved ones are invited for visitation and fellowship with the family from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, January 1, 2013, at the home of Rosanne which is located at 533 Lightfoot Road in Lufkin.
