Memorial services for Pauline Williams Garrett, 79, of Huntington, will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Zavalla with Brother Jacob Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 noon until service time at the church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Ms. Garrett was born January 19, 1933 in the Homer Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Era (Chamness) and Sydney Joseph Williams. She died Friday, January 11, 2012 in a Huntington nursing facility.
Ms. Garrett was the former owner and manager of Pauline's Place in Beaumont. She was also a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and aunt. Her hobbies included raising flowers, gardening, and working crossword puzzles. She loved animals and the beach. Ms. Garrett was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Nicholas Jones of the state of Washington; sister-in-law, Vera Williams of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Linda and James King of Zavalla (her caretakers), Greg Green, Kerry Green, Sherry Stensrud, Linda Lindsey, Randy Williams, Vickie Wilson, Tim Williams, Patricia Miller and Charles (Chuck) Collier.
Preceding Ms. Garrett in death were her parents, Sid and Era Williams; son, Sterling ""Dusty"" Jones; brothers, S.J. Williams, Jr. and Leon Williams; sisters, Jane Green and LaVerne Collier; and nephews, Robert ""Bobby"" Green, Jr. and Larry Green.
