Donald R. Vice

Graveside services with military honors for Donald R. Vice, 76, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nat Cemetery in Nacogdoches County with Pastor Buster Grigg officiating.

Mr. Vice was born March 5, 1936 in Apache, Oklahoma to the late Floy (Whitaker) and Walter E. Vice. He died Sunday, January 13, 2013 after a long battle with ALS.

Donald spent 20 years in the United States Navy. He retired March 8, 1974 and moved to Lufkin from San Diego, where he developed many close friendships. He was loving, caring and devoted, and will be missed by not only his family, but all who knew him well.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce Vice; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and John; granddaughter and husband, Sandy and Seth; great-granddaughter, Felicity; and great-grandson, Jakob.

Donald was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Vice, as well as his father and mother, Walter and Floy Vice.
