Funeral Mass for Joseph John Kwiatkowski, 81, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12:00 noon at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Joe Kannampuzha officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Kwiatkowski was born February 4, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Frances (Levandoski) Kwiatkowski, and died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Kwiatkowski graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover Green, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany. After his discharge from the Army, he started his education at Drexel University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at the Indiana Institute of Technology. He was a Project Manager for various engineering companies throughout the United States before moving to Lufkin in 1979, where he founded and operated Lufkin Fasteners for 34 years. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beverly (Gusicara) Kwiatkowski of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Ana Carr and their daughter Christina of San Antonio; son, Joseph Kwiatkowski, Jr. of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Elias Kougianos of Denton; daughter, Debbie Kwiatkowski and her daughters Johanna, Chelsea and Allison of The Woodlands; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Alice Kwiatkowski of Hanover Green, Pennsylvania; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Frank Jasulewicz of Hanover Green, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Frank Carr, Joseph Kwiatkowski, Elias Kougianos, Frank Kwiatkowski, Jesse Benge and Sparky Sparks.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 1611 Feagin Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Carroway Funeral Home, with a procession to the church at 11:45 a.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.
