Joyce L. Mckeever

Funeral services for Joyce L. McKeever, 86, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Russell and Reverend Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.

Mrs. McKeever was born October 11, 1926 in Lufkin, Texas to Samuel R. and Ethel Pearl Culberson. She died Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence. She resided in Lufkin most of her life. Her favorite past time was quilting, which she had done for more than 40 years. Joyce and her husband Joe were members of the Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. McKeever loved gospel music and sang special requests at church and at nursing homes in the Lufkin area. The family wishes to say that ""Our loss is Heaven's gain"".

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Lewanna Joyce and Clyde Kirkpatrick of Lufkin, Jancis and Rusty Devereaux of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Vicki L. Lemmon of Mexia; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe McKeever; and son, Robert J. Repp.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Riley, Raymond Hadley, Robert Walker, Mark Husband, Ben Wigley and Scott Stanford.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Rocky Hill Baptist Church.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
