Funeral services for Nai-Kwei Chang, MD, 78, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Chaplain Greg Freijo officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe.
Dr. Chang was born September 26, 1934 in China to Yu-Shu and Chun-Ping Chang, and died Friday, January 18, 2013 in a local hospital. A former resident of Jacksonville, he had resided in Lufkin for 11 years. Dr. Chang was a physician at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center.
Survivors include his wife, Yu-Han Chang of Lufkin; sons, Shao-Chieh Chang of Pearland, Shao-Chun Chang, his wife Kim, and their children Joshua and Grace of Carmel, Indiana, and Shao-Jen Chang, his wife Faith, and their children Hope, Daniel and Luke of Huntsville; brother and sister-in-law, Naichun and Mingli Chang of Los Angeles, California; nephew, Steven Shao Chang and wife Lorena of San Jose, California; great-nephew and great-niece, Nicholas Chang and Kylie Chang of San Jose, California.
Pallbearers will be Shao-Chieh Chang, Shao-Chun Chang, MD, Shao-Jen Chang, MD, Brian Carlin, MD, Keith Stovall and Dickson Odero, MD.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
