Funeral services for Hollis Cox, 93, of Lufkin will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Cox was born January 18, 1920 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late James Collier and Katie (Dorman) Cox, and died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his residence. He had resided in Lufkin for more than 60 years. Mr. Cox served in the U.S. Army and retired from Entex following 40 years of employment. He attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol Smith of Lufkin; grandson, Andrew Smith and wife Patricia of Central; granddaughters, Dorlisa Bell and husband Brandon of Huntington and Sandi Smith of Cypress; and great-grandson, Colton Smith of Central.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Corien Cox; granddaughter, Felicia O'Conner; and great-grandson, Dalton Wyade Bell.

Pallbearers will be David Herrreth, David Morgan, Andy Smith, Brandon Bell, Jason Pavlicek, Phillip Morgan and Doug Batten.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Cox and Charles Cox.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or Calvary Baptist Church, 516 Montrose Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon prior to the funeral services.
