Bill Spearman

Funeral services for Bill Spearman, 79, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Spearman was born August 19, 1933 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late William Ford and Sydney Viola (Hayes) Spearman, and died Thursday, January 31, 2013 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin for eleven years.

Mr. Spearman earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma A&M during the last year the school was called A&M. The next year it became Oklahoma State University. He worked for various chemical companies worldwide during his career as a Chemical Engineer. He served in the U.S. Air Force just out of college, living in Morocco for two years. Mr. Spearman was a member of the Lufkin First Assembly of God Church and the Caleb Sunday school class.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rhodema Spearman of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Bill, Jr. and Mary Spearman of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhodema Ann and Calvin Cargill of Mineola and Carla Suzanne and Jim Reily of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two more on the way; sisters, Dorothy Rust of Euless and Doris Alexander of Grapevine; brother Jim Spearman of Norman, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Carroll and Murial Guyton.

Pallbearers will be Joe Ulicnik, Butch Baye, Royce Heil, Ray Smith, David Spearman and Andrew Sims.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Caleb Class.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning prior to the funeral services.
