Owen Frank Pelton

Funeral services for Owen Frank ""Pappy"" Pelton, Jr., 84, of Huntington will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother M.H. Shubert officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mr. Pelton was born October 18, 1928 in the Manning Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Viola (Cameron) and Owen Francis Pelton, Sr., and died Monday, February 4, 2013 in a local hospital. He resided in Huntington most of his life.

Mr. Pelton served in the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 74, and co-owned Pelton & Sons Boiler Works for over 30 years. Mr. Pelton was a member of the New Life United Pentecostal Church. He was a huge influence and father figure to his grandsons and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Doris Pelton of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ricky Petty of Wells, Susan and Tim McCarty of Richmond, and Kim Pelton of Huntington; grandsons, Michael Hathorn, Clay Hathorn, both of Wells, Robby Petty of Manassas, Virginia, Randall Petty, Brian Seymore, both of Lufkin, and Caleb Garber of Huntington; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jacie, Jenna, Presley, Braylee, Pystol, Delilah, Hayden and Paxton; sisters, Viola Barker of Orange and Dot Gilliand of Zavalla; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Michael Hathorn, Clay Hathorn, Brian Seymore, Caleb Garber, Randall Petty and Robby Petty.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
