Graveside services for John Greenwell, 78, of Huntington will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the Sand Flat Cemetery with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating.
Mr. Greenwell was born December 25, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to the late Effie (Pittman) and Clint Greenwell, and died Monday, December 27, 2010 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Greenwell served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Lufkin Industries following 43 years of employment as a machinist. He became an ordained minister May 31, 2000 and enjoyed serving the Lord by preaching at nursing homes and hospitals, where he made visits and taught the word of the Lord.
Survivors include his son, Larry Greenwell of Mesquite; daughter, Pam Andrus of Groveton; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Greenwell of Central, Terry and Teresa Greenwell of Lufkin and Greg and Joy Greenwell of Huntington; grandchildren, Amy Greenwell, Shona Lee, Shawn Andrus, Devin Greenwell, Destinie Greenwell, Daphanie Greenwell and Katie Gibson; great-grandchildren, Saraela Lee, Shilynn Lee, Stellaura Lee and Jaxson Greenwell; niece, Barbara Greenwell; and nephew, Mike Greenwell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Greenwell was preceded in death by his brother, George Greenwell.
