Funeral services for Kay Pearson, 59, of Huntington will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearson was born October 17, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mary Lee (Weaver) and Ben Burgess, and died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Pearson was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. She was a teacher, having taught 3rd, 5th and middle school grades at Zavalla ISD, and most recently high school English at Lufkin ISD. She had served as church pianist for Pine Forest Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Pearson of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Tommy Forse of Hudson; grandson, Jordan Forse of Hudson; granddaughters, Jenny and Jaisley Forse, both of Hudson; special coworkers and friends, Janice Craven of Lufkin and Kay Jones of Zavalla; and special friends, James and Margie Shofner of Huntington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Burgess.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
