Larry L. Cook

Funeral services for Larry L. Cook, 58, of Diboll will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lottie and Arthur Civic Center in Diboll with Brother Vic Bass, Brother Joe Sawyer, Gary Martel and Jason Burrous officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Ryan Chapel Cemetery under the auspices of the Diboll Masonic Lodge #833 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Cook was born February 15, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Willie Lee (Langston) and Joseph Vernon Cook, Sr., and went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 13, 2010, at home with all his family around him.

Mr. Cook was the Maintenance Director at Diboll ISD. His former employers were Temple Inland and Abitibi Paper Mill. Mr. Cook was a member of the Diboll Masonic Lodge #833 A.F. & A.M. He served on the Board of Directors of the Angelina County Appraisal District, volunteered with the Diboll Volunteer Fire Department, and was a Diboll City Councilman. His legacy was the love of God and his family and friends who he loved so dearly.

Mr. Cook was a Master Electrician, but his biggest accomplishment was being a beloved husband and friend of 40 years to his wife Marvana, and a proud and wonderful father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Marvana (Weisinger) Cook; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Pam Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Misty Cook Terrazas and Ruben Terrazas; grandchildren, Jason ""Bubba"" Cook, Jr., Jacie Cook, Ashtin Cook, Alexi Terrazas, Rylea Terrazas and Brianna Terrazas; brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Judy Cook; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Barry Robinson, Margaret Smith and Joyce Faye McElyea; nieces, Stephanie Cook, Sabrina Fisher, Kelly Shadix and Hannah Bowman; nephews, Steven Cook, Bobby Cook, Jr. and Darrell Sallas; uncles and aunts, Bert and Jean Langston and Bobby and Roxane Langston; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Billie Maxine and Ira Lee Jones; stepmother-in-law, Bernice Weisinger; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Danny and Lynda Bowman; stepbrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lanny and Liz Carnley and Butch and Carol Carnley; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Vernon Cook, Sr.; mother, Willie Lee (Langston) Taylor; brothers, Bobby Joe Cook, Sr., Joseph Vernon Cook, Jr., Doyle Cook and Cleon Cook; sister, Patsy Maxine Cook; niece, Jennifer Lea Bowman; and father-in-law, E.L. ""Buck"" Weisinger.

Pallbearers will be Gary Martel, Jimmy Trout, Dennis Shoemaker, Charlie Mann, Gary Jones, Daniel Zarzosa and Billy Brewer.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Rhone, Kevin Mathis, Mark Kettering, Warner Camp, Chad Camp, Todd Horton and the faculty and students of Diboll ISD.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Family Church, P.O. Box 153455, Lufkin, Texas 75915, Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Faith Family Church.
