Willie Maurice Lott

Funeral services for Willie Maurice ""Jo"" Lott, 95, of Wells will be held Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wells with Reverend Josh Luellen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Lott was born June 17, 1915 in Wells, Texas to the late Kattie Tracy (Chapmon) and William Tolbert Hannah, and passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 in a local hospital after an extended illness.

Mrs. Lott was a lifetime resident of Wells. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wells for 73 years. Mrs. Lott enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and gardening. She was very well loved and will be missed tremendously.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kattie and Avery Higgins of Wells; grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Richard Higgins, Brian Higgins, both of Wells and Gregory and Karen Higgins of Lufkin; great-granddaughter and great-grandson-in-law, Jada and Chad Whitt of Lake Jackson; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Whitt of Lake Jackson; sister-in-law, Otha Hannah of Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lott was preceded in death by her husband, Willie ""Jack"" Lott; sisters, Ruth Edna Dawson, Libby Waites, Margaret Bothwell and Joyce Kelley; and brother, Billy Hannah.

Pallbearers will be Alton Morris, Earl Harris, Ken Hannah, Kyle Hooper, Gordon Cole and Buel Puryear.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
