Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Andrew Cope, 58, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Francis O'Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Cope was born December 31, 1951 in Waynesville, North Carolina to the late Dorothy Ann (Lovingood) and Cecil Kermit Cope. He passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer, and went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 12, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Cope had resided in Lufkin for 15 years. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, was the Southwest Regional Sales Manager for Valspar Corp. for 25 years, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Cope was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Very devout in his Catholic faith, he was an excellent example of what a man of God should be. Always ready to lend a hand, give money or food to a poor soul on the street, or be a sincere witness for Christ. Mr. Cope was an involved member of St. Patrick Catholic Church where he sang in the choir and was a very involved team member of the RCIA program. He had also served as President of the St. Patrick Catholic School Board. He shared his love of the Lord with all who would listen. His testimony was that of love and forgiveness. Mr. Cope thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his family and friends.
Mr. Cope will be truly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Survivors include his devoted and beloved wife of 26 years, Josephine (Jo Ann) Cope of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tracy Mann, Anthony and Rebecca Cope, all of Canton, North Carolina and Derek and Lea Cope of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Alison Crivellaro Cope and Michael Lovell of Austin; grandchildren, Nathan Mann, Bryanna Trantham, Gracie Mann, Nichole Cope, A.J. Cope, Tyler Cope, Logan Lovell and Madilyn Lovell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Kathy Cope of Sevierville, Tennessee, Ray and Jackie Cope of Greenville, South Carolina and Richard and Kim Cope of Campobello, South Carolina; nephew and wife, Jason and Julie Cope of Richmond; father-in-law, Joseph Crivellaro of Alvin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Sophie McKinney, Allen and Charlene Staup of Alvin, Mae Hisey of Sheffield, Alabama, Louise Walters and Roberta Harding, both of Alvin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cope was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Cope, mother-in-law, Marie Crivellaro; and brother-in-law, Charles Harding.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Brian Humphreys, Rob Cummings, Ed George, Aaron Menz, Mike McKinney and David McNeese.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
