Funeral services for Parie Lee McKnight, 97, of Wells will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wells with Brother Josh Luellen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. McKnight was born June 3, 1912 in the Lilbert Community, Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Callie (Wallace) and William Howell, and died Monday, March 29, 2010 in a local hospital. She had resided in Wells most of her life and retired from Canon & Parker Department Store. Mrs. McKnight was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wells.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Billy G. and Maxine McKnight; grandsons and wives, Terry and Mary McKnight and Tony and Stacey McKnight; great-grandchildren, Jerry McKnight and wife Melissa, Julie McKnight, Jill Kelley and husband Scooter, Quinton McKnight, Katie McCauley and Jacquelyn McKnight; great-great-grandchildren, Michael Fleeman, Leah Fleeman, Andrea Kelley, Brian Kelley, Hayley McKnight, Jodi Kelley, Colton Kelley and Carson McKnight; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. McKnight; grandson, James Lee ""Jamie"" McKnight; and grandmother, Sis Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Scooter Kelley, Jeff McKnight, Gary McKnight, Quinton McKnight, Jerry McKnight and Michael Fleeman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wells, P.O. Box 491, Wells, Texas 75976.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
