Ruthie L. Sharp

Funeral services for Ruthie L. Sharp, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, October 24, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Richard Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mrs. Sharp was born February 19, 1931, in Chipley, Florida, to the late Beatrice (Broomfield) and Dallas Franklin Pitts. She died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at her residence.

Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her church, her church family, and going to garage sales. Mrs. Sharp was a member of Solid Rock Family Church, and had lived in Lufkin most of her life.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Danny Beauchamp of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Barbara Sharp of Hudson, Leonard and Brenda Sharp of Hudson; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Johnnie Pitts of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn D. (Buddy) Sharp, in 2009.

Mrs. Sharp's grandsons will be serving as her pallbearers.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12 noon until service time on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
