Lois Morgan Travis

Memorial services for Lois Morgan Travis, 101, of Pflugerville, will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Huntington First Baptist Church with Brother Neil Davis officiating

Mrs. Travis joined her Savior on Saturday, March 12, 2011. A fifth generation Texan, she was born on July 8, 1909, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to the late Mattie (Sowell) and Jesse Morgan. Her husband, Hines Travis, preceded her in death.

Lois is survived by her son, Charles D. Travis and wife Lydia of Austin; beloved grandson, Morris Richard Travis and wife Renee' of Pflugerville; beloved granddaughter, Analisa Imboden and husband Todd of Gonzales; great grandsons, John Travis of Pflugerville, Travis Imboden and Austin Imboden, both of Gonzales; and great granddaughter, Kaitlin Travis of Pflugerville.

Lois was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, where she majored in education and homemaking. She was a lifelong educator. You could most often find her teaching first grade in the East Texas communities of Shawnee Prairie, Rocky Hill, Diboll and Huntington for more than 40 years. Through the years of teaching, she touched many lives. Lois provided knowledge, courage and love to every student she taught. She served God abundantly, teaching Sunday School to children at Huntington First Baptist Church.

She lives on in the hearts of her first graders and the many others that loved her. Lois will forever be an inspiration to all of us.

Pallbearers will be Rick Travis, Travis Imboden, Todd Imboden, John Travis, Donald Morgan and Kenneth Morgan.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
