Sgt. Dawn Denise Stripling Searson

Funeral services for Sgt. Dawn Denise Stripling Searson, 48, of Lufkin, with the Angelina County Sheriff's Department, will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Bane officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Springs/Old Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Searson was born December 29, 1961 in San Marcos, Texas to Edna (Kelley) and Cecil Leo Stripling, Jr., and died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Searson had resided in Lufkin for more than 20 years. She had been a Deputy for the Angelina County Sheriff's Department for 18 years, and had also worked for Pricor in Diboll.
Survivors include her husband, Glee Searson of Lufkin; brother, Ray Stripling and wife Bonnie of Riesel; sister-in-law, Twila Jasper; brother-in-law, John Searson and wife Kay of San Antonio; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. Our thanks to those who have helped in this trying time, the Anders family and Dawn's many friends from the Sheriff's Department of Angelina County. Our sincere gratitude to Danny Anders - Dawn's best friend, confidant, mentor and protector for the years of mutual admiration shared between them. Words cannot express how much you have meant to both Dawn and myself over all these years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Brian Holley, Chris Wade, A.D. Anders, Larry Hight, David Rodriguez and Robert Willmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends, Micah Poteet and Kenny Koon, and the Angelina County Sheriff's Department.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
