Clara Oleta Davis

Clara Oleta Davis, 96, of Lufkin died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in a local hospital. She was born July 30, 1914 in the Ora Community, Angelina County, Texas to the late Clara (Cochran) and Louis M. Shofner. Mrs. Davis was a lifetime resident of Lufkin.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Georgia D. and Don Balch and Ellen Dupree, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Georgellen Evans, Donna and Sal Sardina, Ricky Dupree, Randy Dupree and Ronnie Dupree; great-grandson, Cody Evans, and seven additional great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl Davis, Sr.; son, John Earl Davis, Jr.; grandson, John Davis III; and 10 brothers and sisters.

The family extends special thanks to the staff and residents of Parkwood Place Nursing Home.
