Funeral services for Marvin T. ""Doodie"" Allen, Sr., 78, of Allentown, will be held Monday, February 14, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Ken Sandel and Brother Richard Owen officiating. Interment with Masonic services will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born May 4, 1932, in Allentown, Texas, to the late Lillie Mae (Parker) and Emory Hamilton Allen. He died Friday, February 11, 2011, in a Lufkin hospital.

Mr. Allen was an electrical lineman, and was retired from Lufkin Industries and the IBEW Union. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a 3rd Class Torpedoman. Mr. Allen was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed attending livestock sales and being around his grandchildren. Mr. Allen was of the Pentecostal faith and had lived in Allentown most of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Execell Allen of Allentown; sons and daughter-in-law, Marvin T. Allen, Jr., David Hamilton and Crystal Allen, all of Lufkin, and Jacob and Julia Allen of Alvarado; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Allen, Sandy and Kenny Sandel, Julie Marie Allen, all of Lufkin, and Tonya and Michael Hobbs of Pollok; grandchildren, Koty Jones, Nickie Hodges, Davey Allen, Jami Allen, Colt Allen, Cason Allen, Wesley Jones, Shayna Jones, Logun Hobbs, Emma Hobbs, Garrett Allen, Grayson Allen, Heather Sandel, Brent Sandel, Amanda Sandel, Jessica Allen, William Allen, and Marty Allen; nine great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Mack and Jan Allen of Allentown, Preston and Annette Allen of Lufkin; sister, Delores Saxton of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was also preceded in death by a number of brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be David Allen, Leon Parker, Ben Woltz, Carl Woltz, Calvin Allen and Donald Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Dale Basham, Steve Allen, J.C. Crawford, and the members of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M.
