James O. Johnson

Funeral services for James O. ""Bear"" Johnson, 61, of Huntington will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Lamar Denby and Reverend Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born August 14, 1949 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Frances Earline (Nelson) and Leon O. Johnson, and died Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Brownsville, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Huntington and retired from Champion/Abitibi Paper Mill following 30 years of employment. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Highway Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Billie and Eric Kronk of Huntington; grandchildren, Eric Kronk, Jr., Marlina Johnson, Aimery Kronk and Cheyenne Kronk, all of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Beatrice Johnson, Kenny and Angela Johnson, Michael Johnson, Frank and Brenda Johnson, Richard Johnson and Charlie and Sandi Johnson, all of Huntington; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Johnson; and sister, Carolyn Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Johnson, Brent Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Roper Johnson, Chris Hutson and Timmy Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, Jr., Mark Wiggins, Chris Johnson and Aaron Johnson.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
