Alice F. King

Funeral services for Alice F. King, 87, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Vic Bass officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. King was born March 28, 1923 in Conroe, Texas to Lillie Belle (Bennett) and Charles Vance Collins. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, she stepped into the gates of Heaven into eternal paradise Sunday, June 27, 2010 and was met by God, her husband, James A. King, and her parents.

Mrs. King was a homemaker. She was an Elvis fan and loved cooking, making the best chocolate pie and banana pudding. Mrs. King was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Jo Ann and John Bonner of Lufkin and Jenith Lynn Almaraz of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, James Vance and Paulette King of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jim Bonner of Lufkin, Charissa Gibson and husband Joe of Huntsville, Brandon Clostio of Baytown, Kimberly Luis and husband Ricki of Humble, James Vance King, Jr. and wife Debbie, Michelle May and husband Jonathan, Melissa King and Margaret Greene and husband Randall, all of Lafayette, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Ashton Bonner, Brandon Bonner, Tyler Gibson, Kailee Gibson, James Vance King III, Kaylin King, Katherine May, Madelyn Andrews, Michael Warren, Mary Kathryn Warren and Randall J. Greene; sister, Sarah Louise Jaynes; nieces, Anita Smith and Linda Schmer; nephew, Robert A. Jaynes; and a host of extended family.

Pallbearers will be Jim Bonner, James Vance King, Jr., Brandon Clostio, Joe Gibson, Ricki Luis and Randall Greene.

Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne A. King.

The family extends special thanks to Mrs. King's caregivers, Lou Kio, Rosa Robeldo and Deneshia Malone, her physicians, Dr. Nazeer, Dr. Kumar, Randy York, PA and Dr. Muir, and the staff at Henderson Dialysis.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
