L.E. Williams

Funeral services for L.E. Williams, 58, of Pollok will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Living God at 613 Culverhouse Street with Pastor Earl Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was born November 26, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Gennie Mae (Esco) and Curtis Williams, and died Thursday, August 31, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Williams resided in Angelina County most of his life and was a Dunbar Tiger. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in Korea. Following his military service, Mr. Williams attended Angelina College and Texas Southern University, and received an Associate Degree in Business from Kaplan University. He retired from Polk Oil Company. Mr. Williams was a member of the Church of the Living God.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Williams of Pollok; sons, Abunwa K. Cooper of Hudson, Marco D. Patton of Houston and Derrick Hadnot of Beaumont; granddaughters, Taylor P. Cooper of Houston, Indya Marie Cooper of Diboll, Deshun Patton, Miracle Patton and Saith Patton, all of Houston; sister, May Dessa Williams of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Frances Williams, Joel and Evelyn Williams and Robert and Jacquelynn Williams, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brothers, Raythell Williams, Curtis Eugene Williams and F.L. Williams.

Pallbearers will be Abunwa K. Cooper, Marco D. Patton, Derrick K. Hadnot, Tyrone Doyle, Anthony Griffin and Terrance Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Men of the Church of the Living God.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
