Elmer Gene Norsworthy

Graveside services for Elmer ""Gene"" Norsworthy, 72, of Hudson will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Possum Walk Cemetery in Trinity County with Brother Keith Woolf officiating.
Mr. Norsworthy was born July 13, 1937 in the Nogalus Prairie Community, Trinity County, Texas to the late Edna (West) and Calvin Norsworthy, and died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in a local hospital. He had resided in the Lufkin area for 51 years and was a retired mechanic. Mr. Norsworthy was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and off-roading.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Eunice Norsworthy of Hudson; sons, Randall Norsworthy and wife Shelley of Lufkin and Ray Norsworthy and wife Jackie of Livingston; daughter, Regina Wittmann and husband T.J. (Thomas) of Lufkin; grandchildren, Bridgett Sluder and husband Stephen, Jennifer Ivey and husband Adam, Arlaina, Brianna and Arlon Norsworthy, Dustin Alderman, Kodi Norsworthy, Samantha Havard and Mackenzie Wittmann; great-grandchildren, Jenna and Matthew Ivey, Ethan and Noah Sluder; sisters, Zelma Smith and Thelma Mae King and husband Bradley; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Norsworthy was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Wayne Norsworthy; and sisters, Marie Smith, Margie Casper and Mary Jo Barrett.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
